Digital Communication Design 2014
As a third year student at UCA Epsom, the beginning of 2014 largely consisted of organising the DCD graduate show (on top of final major projects, of course). Unfortunately, the university lacked the funds to entirely support the show in London, thus fundraising was obligatory to showcase our work.
As someone who was very keen to have a graduate show in London, I managed to fundraise over £700 through club events in Epsom, donut sales and family support. This was the first time I had planned events or organised meetings with local businesses, and actually really enjoyed the experience.
Not only was the fundraising a fantastic opportunity, but I was also involved in the theme branding and the design of the DCD publication. The theme was to present ourselves as a collective class, showing the large spectrum of skills and interests we have as designers, thinkers, makers etc.
