Samsung: Galaxy Watch4 | Strava
Samsung partnered with Strava to support the newly launched Samsung Galaxy Watch4 Series. Covid saw an increase in the number of people taking an interest in jogging and running, alongside a rise in demand for smartwatches. This campaign was an opportunity to unite a disconnected community of runners with a boost of motivation.

The Galaxy Watch4 became the nation's fitness coach, helping people to Run Smarter by demonstrating how the smartwatch can accurately monitor and help reduce stress levels. By identifying popular running routes throughout the UK, we were able to obtain data for suitable advertising placements, turning DOOH ads into personal coaches fueled by real-time activity data.
This project was designed to be an ambitious data-driven approach to creative and media execution, targeting our core competitive audience as they hit the streets. Using data feeds, each poster broadcast the best running time in their own particular community, giving them a target to aim for.
Alongside the DOOH assets, I created the Strava x Samsung UK Galaxy Watch4 Challenge badge for the official challenge page. The badge needed to represent Samsung and adhere to their identity and watch UI style, without showcasing a specific form of exercise or activity.
The campaign was a great success, with more than 230,000 active participants taking part in the Strava challenge, logging an impressive 4.2 million runs, in turn helping the Galaxy Watch4 increase by over 60% in smartwatch preference.
